Big Island in 4 Days

It feels like we’re living at the mercy of the Corona Kingdom these days. The news all over the world must be pretty terrible. Even my relatives in China are calling to check if we are ok here in the States. But today is a rather special day that I’ve been working towards for eight years now, so I’m choosing to stay home and celebrate! Today is Match Day!! The day when senior medical students around the country find out where they have matched for residency training. Usually, there’s a big ceremony where everyone gathers at noon to open their envelopes containing their residency destinies but of course things are different this time around. Anyway, before getting sucked back into the coronavortex, let me celebrate by announcing that I’ll be spending the next four years completing my Med-Peds residency at…

Baylor!!! (in Houston, TX!)

One of my classmates (shoutout to Camille!) was recalling yesterday that our med school time has been tumultuous. Our first year was infected with the Zika virus outbreak in Wynwood and South Beach. The next year Hurricane Irma devastated the Keys. Yet we’ve made it through with grit and camaraderie. Congrats to my MD-MPHamily for a 100% match, to the rest of my extraordinary classmates at the U, and to medical graduates across the US! Come July we’ll be on the front lines of this pandemic. 💪🏼

Now back to the highlights reel from our most recent travels to Oahu, the Big Island (see below), and Maui (coming soon)! Full Big Island itinerary here.
